Now when the true and provisional teachings are utterly confused, it
would be equally unnatural for one to seclude himself in the
mountains, carrying out the practice of shoju, and avoid refuting the
enemies of the Lotus Sutra. He would lose all chance to practice the
Lotus Sutra.
